Frost Named National Coach of the Year Finalist

Head coach Brad Frost will coach in his 10th Frozen Four with Minnesota this week.
MINNEAPOLIS ā Head Coach Brad Frost has been named a 2022-23 Division I Women's Coach of the Year Finalist by the American Hockey Coaches Association. Frost will coach in his 10th Frozen Four with Minnesota this weekend.
This season, Frost has guided the Gophers to a 30-5-3 record and the number two overall seed in the NCAA tournament. Minnesota defeated Wisconsin and Ohio State to earn its eighth WCHA tournament title before shutting out Minnesota Duluth to advance to its first Frozen Four since 2019. The Gophers lead the NCAA in goals-per-game (4.65) and total team points (467).Ā
This season marks the 10th time Frost has been named an AHCA Coach of the Year Finalist. He most recently won the award in back-to-back years in 2013 and 2014. In his 16 seasons at the helm of the Gophers, Frost has compiled a 472-98-39 (.807) record with four national titles, seven WCHA regular season titles and five WCHA tournament championships. Ā
