MINNEAPOLIS – After returning from the Lone Star State, the Golden Gopher softball team will continue its string of away tournaments to the Golden State at the Judi Garman Classic and a single game against San Diego State.

Before playing against the Aztecs, the Maroon and Gold will face off against No. 20 Oregon, No. 15 LSU, host school Cal State Fullerton, Loyola Marymount and Seattle over the weekend.

First of Many
Krapf's weekend was highlighted by five home runs, leaving the yard at least once against each opponent at the Baylor Invitational. The sophomore hit .692 with seven runs, and eight RBI. Through five games, Krapf went 9-for-13, slugging 1.846 with a .733 on-base clip.

Against the Lions, Krapf had a career-best two home runs scored, along with four RBI - a weekend high.

This is Krapf's first Big Ten Weekly honor of her career in the Maroon and Gold, and the second for Minnesota this season. Freshman Jess Oakland picked up Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Feb. 13, 2023.

Easy Pease-y
Senior right-hander Autumn Pease led the circle for the Gophers. Picking up a 1-1 record, the senior gave up only four runs in 14.2 innings pitched, along with 13 strikeouts.

Sharing the Pot
The Maroon and Gold had a big weekend in the scoring category, outscoring their opponents 30-20. Five Golden Gophers had five or more runs, as Krapf led the way with seven through five games. Against Texas A&M Commerce, Minnesota had seven homeruns, including back-to-back (Kayla Chavez, Addison Leschber, Taylor Krapf) homers – which hasn't happened since at least 2014.

A Weekend of Firsts
Junior infielder Maddy Ehlke secured her first career hit against Texas A&M Commerce. A double would do the trick for Ehlke, advancing Natalie DenHartog to third and scoring Jessica Oakland.

Topping the Terrapins
The Gophers picked up two-ranked wins over No. 21/23 Maryland on Saturday. Pease and Jacie Hambrick each improved their records with a win, while the offense out-scored the Terrapins 9-2 through both games.

Record Breakers
Minnesota's second-highest scoring game this season was also one for the record books. The Gophers hits seven home runs, with 15 hits and 17 RBI – the most so far this season.

Homeward Bound
Four Gophers will return to their home state at the Judi Garman Classic. Autumn Pease, Amani Bradley, Kayla Chavez, and Jess Oakland all hail from the Golden State.
