MINNEAPOLIS – On the road again, the Golden Gopher softball team travels to East Lansing for a three-game series April 14-16 at Michigan State.
Game one is set for Friday at 4 p.m., while Saturday is scheduled for 12 p.m., the series finale is Sunday at 11 a.m., all games are central time and can be streamed on B1G+.

Recapping the Action
Minnesota won its second Big Ten series last weekend, taking two-of-the three at home against RV Indiana. Freshman Jess Oakland hit a walk-off sac fly on Saturday, scoring sophomore Kayla Chavez to lift the Golden Gophers to a 6-5 victory. Junior Maddy Ehlke secured the series with a bases-clearing three RBI triple in the bottom of the sixth on Sunday.
Breaking the Hoosier Barrier
Coming into the weekend, Indiana held a 22-game win streak and picked up its 23rd in the first game of the series. The Golden Gophers spoiled the fun, handing Indiana its first loss in 23 games and first conference series loss.
B1G Time Performer
San Jose, Calif., native Jess Oakland led the way offensively for the Maroon and Gold. The freshman went 5-for-9, scoring four runs and batting in four others. On Saturday, Oakland met/matched four career highs: four RBI, three hits, three runs scored, and two home runs in a single game.
CHA-CHA!
Leading off the for Minnesota against Indiana was sophomore Kayla Chavez who wrapped up another big weekend for the Maroon and Gold. The sophomore had four runs, four hits, a double and home run against the Hoosiers. The Chino Hills, Calif., native needs seven more doubles to enter Minnesota's top five for doubles in a single season. She needs eight to surpass Amber Hegland (1998) who sits in fifth overall with 18.Â
Autumn at the Helm
Fifth year senior Autumn Pease is making her name known at the conference level and nationally. Pease ranks first in the Big Ten and fourth in the NCAA in strikeouts (174), second in the Big Ten and tenth in the NCAA in victories (16), and second in the Big Ten and 15th in the NCAA in for innings pitched (134.2).
Tactful Transfers
Transfers Taylor Krapf and Amani Bradley have been a key component in the Minnesota lineup this season. Playing all 38 games, Krapf leads Minnesota offensively, going .349 at the plate with 10 home runs and 30 RBI. Bradley has 23 hits so far, scoring 21 runs and batting in six on the year.

Before returning to Jane Sage Cowles Stadium next weekend, Minnesota will travel to Madison, Wisc., for a border battle double header against the Badgers on Wednesday, April 19.
