Gophers Finish Rounds 1 & 2 in Columbus Tied for 5th

COLUMBUS, OH - The University of Minnesota women's golf team finished 36 holes of competition today at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational. The Gophers sit ahead of three top-50 ranked teams heading into tomorrow's final round.
After tying the fourth-lowest 18-hole score in school history in round one (283), the Gophers are tied for fifth place with a two-round score of 283-296=579.
No. 25 and host Ohio State has the solo lead with an 18-under-par 558.

"We had a job to do today and we put in a really good effort to achieve it," said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "We're right where we need to be with one round left and the opportunity to pick up some really important ranked wins as we head into the postseason. I'm confident this group can stay composed tomorrow and get the job done!"
Notable:
Luisamariana Mesones showed off her skill, carding both rounds with a 70 (-2). Her four-under-par finish has her tied for sixth.
Coming off of her B1G Golfer of the Week performance, Isabella McCauley continued to impress shooting a 70 (-2) in round one and a 72 (E) in round two. She sits in a tie for 12th heading into round three.
Emma Carpenter tallied seven birdies and 20 pars across the two rounds today. Her score of 72-76=148 (+4) has her in a tie for 39th.
Grace Curran went under par in round one shooting a 71 (-1). Curran is in a tie for 41st with a score of 149 (+5).
Leah Herzog finished rounds one and two shooting 75-76=151 (+7). This finish has her tied for 51st.
Freshman Ruby Chi appeared in her second tournament as a Gopher in Columbus today. She shed off a couple of strokes between rounds and is tied for 73rd with a score of 156 (+12).
