Pease Dominant for Minnesota in Shutout Victory Against Iowa

The fifth year senior hurled ten strikeouts in Minnesota's win over Iowa

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn - Senior Autumn Pease was dealing on Friday, hurling a four-hit shutout to lead the Minnesota Golden Gophers over the Iowa Hawkeyes 6-0.

Pease (18-6) went the distance for Minnesota (26-16,7-6), giving up four hits, walking one and striking out 10.

Senior Natalie DenHartog led the way offensively for the Golden Gophers, going 1-for-2 in the ballgame with a home run, a walk and two RBI. Sophomore Taylor Krapf furnished a standout day at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Sophomore Kayla Chavez also contributed, going 2-for-3 for Minnesota with a double, a walk and an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Gophers took the lead for good in the third, scoring for the first time in the inning. Minnesota plated two runs when DenHartog left the yard with Chavez aboard.

The Golden Gophers then tacked on runs in the sixth inning when they scored four times. The big hit in that inning was a two-run home run off the bat of Krapf.
