Gophers Complete A Rainy Round Two at the Chattanooga Classic

Isabella McCauley shot an under par round and leads the team individually in 7th
CHATTANOOGA, TN - The University of Minnesota women's golf team completed round two of the Chattanooga Classic today. The team remains in contention sitting in fourth and both freshmen Isabella McCauley and Luisamariana Mesones are in the top 20 individually.
The U improved by five strokes between rounds shooting a 3-over-par 296 today, and are in fourth with a team score of 587 (+11).Ā
28th-ranked SMU still leads the tournament after shooting 285 (-3) today and setting a Chattanooga Classic tournament 36-hole record of 573 (-3).

"I am really pleased with today's round. We were solid from the get-go and came home strong," said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "Bella really found her zone and rolled in some great putts. Super proud of the way the team played tough in the rain and we're ready to get after it tomorrow"
Notable:
Isabella McCauley caught fire carding four birdies in her last six holes finishing with a 69 (-3). She moved up 11 spots and finished the day in seventh.
Luisamariana Mesones rolled home 14 pars paired with one birdie. Her score of 74 (+2) has her tied for 17th after 36 holes.
Senior Grace Curran flashed three birdies and five pars on the back nine. Curran is now tied for 26th after shooting 75 (+3).
Emma Carpenter improved by five strokes between rounds one and two. The senior penciled in a 73 (+1) and is tied for 37th.
Leah Herzog carded twelve pars today shooting a 79 (+7). Herzog is tied for 54th heading into the final round.
