Pease dominant for Minnesota in shutout win against Ohio State
COLUMBUS, Ohio -Â Senior Autumn Pease was dealing on Sunday, tossing a three-hit shutout to lead the Minnesota Golden Gophers over the Ohio State Buckeyes 7-0.
Pease (23-6) went the distance for Minnesota (33-16, 14-6 Big Ten), giving up three hits, walking one and striking out six.
At the plate, the Golden Gophers were led by senior Sydney Strelow, who went 2-for-3 on the day with two doubles, a walk and two RBI. Freshman Jess Oakland put together a standout performance at the plate as well, going 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Senior Amani Bradley also contributed for Minnesota, putting together three hits in three trips to the plate while adding a double, a walk and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Gophers took the lead for good in the third, scoring for the first time in the inning. Minnesota's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a two-run home run off the bat of Oakland.
The Golden Gophers also added runs in the sixth and seventh innings on the way to the 7-0 victory.
