MINNEAPOLIS – Looking to stay golden, the University of Minnesota softball team will host Michigan in its regular season Big Ten conference finale May 5-7 at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium. The series kicks off on Friday at 6:30 p.m., while Saturday is at 11 a.m., and Senior Day set for Sunday at 1 p.m., all times central. Friday's game can be streamed live on B1G+, while Saturday and Sunday will be on Big Ten Network.

For the Seniors
Sunday's game against Michigan is Senior Day, the Golden Gophers will be celebrating Natalie DenHartog, Autumn Pease, and Amani Bradley for their accomplishments on, and off, the field.

Tracking the Gophers
Backed behind six Big Ten series wins; the Golden Gophers look to continue their hot streak this weekend against the Michigan Wolverines. Five Gophers are hitting above .300 heading into this weekend, while sophomore Taylor Krapf leads the way in multiple stat categories including average (.363), home runs (12), RBI (41), slugging % (.704), and on-base % (.455).

Here Comes Minnesota
This week, the University of Minnesota softball team received top 25 votes in two publications: D1 Softball and Extra Inning Softball, coming in at 25. This is the second time this season the Golden Gophers have appeared in a top 25 poll.

Triple Threat
After allowing one earned run through 20 innings of work, fifth year senior Autumn Pease nabbed Big Ten Pitcher of the Week accolades on Monday.

Pease made three combined starts against Wisconsin and Ohio State, pitching 19 scoreless innings and picking up three victories, continuing her streak of 10 consecutive wins. The Murrieta, Calif., native is the conference leader in both victories (23) and strikeouts (229). Nationally, she ranks fifth in both categories.

The award marks her fourth career weekly honor from the league and third this season. Pease is the first individual Minnesota pitcher to win back-to-back weekly awards since Amber Fiser in 2019 (April 15, April 22, April 29, and May 6). In 2020, Pease and Fiser won the award for the Golden Gophers in back-to-back weeks on Feb. 24 (Fiser) and March 2 (Pease).

Seeing Double
Sophomore Kayla Chavez and junior Maddy Ehlke both lead the Maroon & Gold squad in doubles with 14 so far this season. Each needs four to surpass Amber Hegland (1998) to enter Minnesota's top five for doubles in a single season.

Weekend Promos
This weekend, students are encouraged to attend Friday's game as a combined baseball/softball study break event will be between the two fields pregame. There will be yard games, free Chick-fil-A, and free fidget popper balls. Attendance is free to all UMN students. Saturday is Bark in the Park and fans are encouraged to bring their furry friends along to the game. There will be treats and water available, fans that bring a pet will receive a free pet bag dispenser.

Up Next
Minnesota will continue into the postseason in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois at the Big Ten Tournament. Following the conclusion of this weekend, a full bracket will be available.
