Minnesota Falls to Indiana in Big Ten Tournament Semis

URBANA, Ill. - Senior Delanie Cox went 1-for-2 with an RBI, but the Minnesota Golden Gophers still came up short on Friday, and suffered defeat at the hands of the Indiana Hoosiers by a final of 5-3.
Senior Autumn Pease (26-7) started and took the loss in the circle for Minnesota (37-17). Junior Jacie Hambrick was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going two shutout innings while allowing two hits.
Cox led the way offensively for the Golden Gophers, going 1-for-2 in the ballgame with a walk and an RBI. Sophomore Taylor Krapf compiled a standout day at the plate as well, going 0-for-0 with three walks. Junior Maddy Ehlke also chipped in, going 2-for-3 for Minnesota.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 2-0, the Golden Gophers first put runs on the board in the second inning. Minnesota got an RBI single from Cox, scoring Krapf from second base.
The Hoosiers expanded their lead to 4-1 before the Golden Gophers offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the fourth. Minnesota managed to push across two runs in the inning, which tightened the Hoosiers lead to 4-3. The Golden Gophers were unable to get any closer, as Indiana added one run to their tally on the way to a 5-3 final.
