MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota women's swimming and diving program welcomes 10 newcomers for the 2023-24 season, head coach Kelly Kremer announced Tuesday. The class will feature nine swimmers and one diver representing three different countries and five states, including a pair of Minnesotans.

Coach Kremer says: "Ava adds depth to our breaststroke group and has had a great senior year. Given her improvement curve, her feel for the water, and her foundation in the sport, we are excited for what her future at Minnesota holds."
Coach Kremer says: "Elise is a class act who will add depth to our backstroke group. She loves the process of swimming and has a definite knack for pacing a 200. Her coaches give her glowing remarks and we can't wait to have her back on campus."
Coach Kremer says: "Mina's improvement curve is probably even more impressive than her current times. She is one of the fastest up-and-coming sprinters of this class and will complete a young, talented, and ambitious sprint training group. We can't wait to start working with her."
Coach Kremer says: "Jasmine comes from a fantastic training background and her interest in Minnesota was evident from the start. She is a tough competitor, and her strength in breaststroke events combined with her versatility in the IMs are very welcome additions to our team."
Coach Kremer says: "Katie is one of the top prospective student-athletes out of the 2023 class, is a 2020 and 2024 Olympic Trial Qualifier, and will make an immediate impact wearing the Maroon and Gold. We are thrilled Katie chose Minnesota. The fact that she was born and raised in our state and has strong connections to our program already makes it even sweeter that she's a Gopher."
Coach Kremer says: "Claire is a multiple-time state champion at the Minnesota Girls Class AA State Meet. She has very strong sprint fly coming in the door and has been diligently developing her 200 IM and 200 fly. Given her steady improvements year after year, it's clear she will make an impact here at The U."
Coach Wenbo Chen says: "Elna is a Swedish national team member. She will compete at World Championships for Sweden this year. She is a very strong diver for one-meter and three-meter. I am so excited and looking forward to working with her."
