Grace Curran leads the Gophers individually
LAKE ELMO, MN - The University of Minnesota women's golf team completed another 18 holes of competition earlier today at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M. Graduate Grace Curran stepped up and shed two strokes off of her round one score to help lead the team with an even-par 72. As a team, Minnesota currently leads the tournament in total pars, racking up 124 between the 36 holes played. The Gopher's two day score of 290-301=591 (+15) puts them in 12th place with one round remaining.
South Carolina remains in first place with a two day score of 273-282–555 (-21).

"We struggled today to find the same energy that propelled us yesterday" said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "We made poor decisions on the par fives. Instead of capitalizing, we gave strokes back to the field and that'll deflate a round quickly. We still enjoyed the process of competing and I'm confident we can clean up our errors and have a better scoring day tomorrow."
Notable:
Grace Curran carded the most birdies on the team in round two, finishing with four on her scorecard. She ended the day tied for 39th with a two round score of 74-72=246 (+2).
Hailey Loh began her day with ten straight pars. The senior's two round score of 72-75=147 (+3) has her in a tie for 44th.
Isabella McCauley improved by two strokes between rounds, penciling in a round two score of 74 (+2). McCauley is in a tie for 50th heading into round three after shooting 76-74=150 (+6) across the 36 holes.
Freshman Sara Tomaszewski finished round two in 57th with a two day score of 71-81=152 (+8). Her 3.13 average par three score is tied for the 24th lowest in the tournament.
Megan Furtney rolled home two birdies and eight pars in round two. Furtney is in a tie for 58th with a score of 73-80=153 (+9).
