Scouting Michigan
Following a four-game win streak, including one over No. 11 Notre Dame on the road, Michigan entered this week at No. 19 in the United Soccer Coaches rankings. Gabrielle Prych scored the lone goal in the 1-0 upset victory. Against Western Michigan, Sammi Woods would net a brace in the 2-0 win and goalkeeper Stephanie Sparkowski earned herself Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week nods after recording a career-high nine saves.

Last Time Out
The Golden Gophers hope to pick up their first ranked win of the season over No. 19 Michigan on Friday. Since 2018, Minnesota has competed against the Wolverines three times and last beat them in 2018 1-0 in double overtime. Last season, Michigan traveled to Minnesota and won, 1-0.

Homeward Bound
Minnesota features two Michigan natives on the roster this season in Sophia Romine and Kate Childers. Romine, in her second season after transferring from Wisconsin, is from Romeo, Michigan. Childers, a freshman, is from Fenton, Michigan and has two older sisters that played soccer at Michigan State.

Unbeaten
Minnesota hasn't lost a match since they faced Milwaukee last month. The Golden Gophers are on a 2-0-2 undefeated streak with wins over Marquette and St. Thomas and draws against No. 22 Georgia and Creighton.
