Prior to 2017, the last time the two met was back in 2010 at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Golden Gophers picked up a 4-2 win and outshot the Bluejays 31-7. At the time, Minnesota received 12 votes in the United Soccer Coaches poll and reached the Sweet Sixteen.

Currently on a 2-0-1 undefeated streak, the Golden Gophers saw themselves ranked at No. 10 on the United Soccer Coaches North Region poll.
B1G Goalkeeper of the Week
After collecting her third-straight shutout and making a season-high eight saves against No. 22 Georgia, University of Minnesota goalkeeper Megan Plaschko was named Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
The award marks the graduate's fourth time receiving the honor. She previously won last season on Oct. 11 and during her junior year on Sept. 7 and Oct. 19.
Plaschko, a double major in marketing and communication studies, recorded back-to-back-to-back shutouts against Marquette, No. 22 Georgia, and St. Thomas (a combined shutout with Cam Xu against the Tommies). Against the Bulldogs, she faced 20 shots and saved all eight shots on goal - a season high.
Nationally, Plaschko ranks No. 19 in shutouts and third in the Big Ten. She holds a 0.348 GAA (goals against average) which seats her at third in the Big Ten and 30th nationally.
Hats off to Boman!
Against St. Thomas, senior captain Sophia Boman netted her first career hat-trick and the first hat-trick since Izzy Brown (vs. Drake Sept. 1, 2022). Boman netted a career high in goals and points (6), surpassing her previous high of five points (vs. Marquette Sept. 11, 2022) where she finished two goals and assisted Gabbie Cesarone.
Backline Bestline!
Minnesota's backline has secured four shutouts this past season for the Golden Gophers and have not allowed a run-of-play goal yet this season. Both goals scored came in a penalty kick (Niagara) and a free kick (Marquette).
Against St. Thomas, the starting backline consisting of Jelena Zbiljic, Elizabeth Overberg, Abi Frandsen, Jordy Rothwell, with Taylor Heimerl, Fiona Skwierawski, and Maddy Raymond getting in the mix, allowed zero shots on net.
The Golden Gophers haven't had another match where they've allowed zero shots on goal since at least 2012.
