10/17/2024 12:00:00 PM | Wrestling

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota wrestling team is scheduled to appear on the Big Ten Network three times this upcoming season, the conference and network announced Thursday.

In addition, the Gophers confirmed start times for all home meets this year. Season tickets are on sale now, while single-match tickets will be available in the near future.

Minnesota's home slate starts on Nov. 15 with a 7 p.m. dual versus Bucknell, while Campbell visits on Nov. 24 at 1 p.m.

The Gophers' first appearance on the Big Ten Network comes on Jan. 11 when they visit Nebraska at 3:30 p.m.

Minnesota's Big Ten home opener will be Jan. 19 at 1 p.m. against Michigan.

The remaining two broadcasts on BTN will both come from Maturi Pavilion, starting with a home dual against Rutgers on Feb. 2 at 12 p.m.

One week later Purdue visits the Pav for a 1 p.m. dual with the Gophers.

The second and final home TV broadcast comes in the regular season finale on Feb. 14 versus Iowa. Match time is set for 8 p.m. against the Hawkeyes.

In addition to those four duals, BTN will also showcase Minnesota and the rest of the conference at the 2025 Big Ten Championships in Evanston, Ill., March 8-9.

All home matches not televised by Big Ten Network are scheduled to stream on B1G+, which does require a subscription. Start times for road duals will be determined and announced by the host institutions.

Minnesota returns seven starters, including 2024 All-Americans Isaiah Salazar and Vance VomBaur, for the 2024-25 season. Other returning national qualifiers include fifth-year senior Andrew Sparks, redshirt juniors Blaine Brenner, Drew Roberts and Bennett Tabor, and sophomore Tyler Wells

In addition, the team welcomes in three transfers in Tommy Askey (release), Cooper Flynn (release) and Clayton Whiting (release), plus a freshman class that brings in an additional eight newcomers. Minnesota also brings back three wrestlers that started at least one dual a year ago.
