MINNEAPOLIS – For the third consecutive week, multiple University of Minnesota swimming and diving student-athletes have earned Big Ten weekly honors. After stellar performances in last weekend's tri-meet against South Dakota State and St. Thomas, three Golden Gophers were recognized by the conference: Elna Widerstrom, YuTong Wang, and Joe Polyak.

Widerstrom earned her second career and second consecutive Big Ten Diver of the Week honor this week. Elna won both the 1 and 3 meter competition at last week's tri-dual meet versus South Dakota State and St. Thomas. She scored 306.10 on 1-meter and 354.65 on 3-meter.

Sophomore YuTong Wang also earned his second Big Ten Diver of the Week honor of the season this week. Wang had a record breaking meet against SDSU and UST. Wang set the school record in the 1-meter with a score of 435.15. The previous record was held by Nick Yang at 420.35. Wang also picked up the victory in the 3-meter with a score of 430.95.

Polyak picked up his first career Big Ten Weekly honor. The freshman picked up an individual win in the 200 free (1:41.38), as well as part of the 200 medley-winning relay team with a combined time of 1:30.37.

The Maroon and Gold will be back in the pool on Nov. 1st, taking on the Wisconsin Badgers in a dual meet on the road.
