There are 11 newcomers to the Minnesota wrestling team for the 2024-25 season, so GopherSports is doing Q&As with them in order to get to know them better. Up first, Charlie Millard, a true freshman from Mequon, Wis.

Coming out of Homestead High School, Millard was a two-time state
champion and ranked 29th on MatScouts' final Big Board. So far this year, he's 7-1 at 157 pounds with titles at both the Bison Open and Daktronics Open. It was the latter performance that earned him Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors on Nov. 21 as he upset then-No. 14 Cobe Siebrecht of South Dakota State. On Dec. 1, he faced Siebrecht again, this time ranked 19th, in Millard's collegiate dual debut, winning 10-3.
