Second award of 2024-25 for the junior

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Brody Lamb was named a Big Ten Conference Men's Hockey Star of the Week for the second time this season, it was announced Tuesday. He earned Third Star of the Week honors and collected an award from the league office for the third time in his career.

Lamb returned from an injury to record a team-best three points in Minnesota's home series versus Alaska with a goal and two assists. The junior started the weekend via a helper on the Gophers' tying goal Friday, the lone goal scored in a 1-1 tie. The next night, he scored his first-career shorthanded goal to pull even 38 seconds into the third period and sparked a four-goal frame that helped the Maroon and Gold rally for the victory. Lamb added an assist five minutes later on the eventual game-winning goal as he delivered in critical times yet again.

The Byron, Minn., native's tally Saturday was his 10th of the year, which ranks third in the NCAA, and he is the first Minnesota skater to reach double-digit goals in 2024-25. Lamb is the only player in the country this season to score five or more power-play goals while also recording a shorthanded marker.

The Maroon and Gold have had a star of the week six times this season with Lamb the only Gopher to land multiple awards after earning Second Star of the Week on Oct. 29. He joins Jimmy Snuggerud (Nov. 12), Sam Rinzel (Oct. 29), Jimmy Clark (Oct. 22) and Connor Kurth (Oct. 15) as weekly honorees.
