Minnesota fell to No. 3 Stanford and walked off UCSB
GAME ONE
SAN DIEGO, Calif. --The Minnesota Golden Gophers were not able to score a run against Stanford pitcher senior Regan Krause on Saturday and were shut out 3-0 by the No. 3 Cardinal.
Sophomore Sydney Schwartz (1-1) started and took the loss in the circle for Minnesota (2-1).
Senior Maddy Ehlke led the way offensively for the Golden Gophers, going 1-for-3 in the ballgame with a double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Minnesota did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Golden Gophers went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the fourth, when Ehlke made it into scoring position with nobody out.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. --The Minnesota Golden Gophers rallied to score two in the seventh inning and walked it off on a two-run single off the bat of senior Maddy Ehlke to pick up the 4-3 victory over the UCSB Gauchos Saturday.
Senior Bri Enter (2-0) got the win for Minnesota (3-1). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up three runs, all of them earned, on five hits, allowing one walk and striking out five.
In the batter's box, the Golden Gophers were led by freshman Nani Valencia, who went 1-for-1 on the day with a home run and an RBI. Sophomore Jess Oakland compiled a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Ehlke also contributed for Minnesota, putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding two RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Gophers were trailing 3-0 in the fifth inning when they first put runs on the board. Minnesota got an RBI single from Oakland, scoring senior Morgan DeBord from second base.
The Golden Gophers kept the deficit at 3-1 before closing the gap further in the sixth. Minnesota picked up a run on Valencia's two-out solo home run off of sophomore Malaya Johnson, which tightened the Gauchos lead to 3-2.
Minnesota kept its deficit in check, holding UCSB scoreless before scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh to claim victory, walking it off on a two-run single off the bat of Ehlke.
