Men’s Swim and Dive Heads to Ohio State for Big Ten Championships

MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota men's swimming and diving program begins their postseason journey this week at the 2024 Big Ten Championships, Wednesday through Saturday, in Columbus, Ohio.
Day one will begin on Wednesday evening at 4:00 p.m. CT at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion with the 200 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay.
The Big Ten Championships will be streamed on B1G+ (subscription required) and live results can be found on GopherSports.com and the Meet Mobile app (subscription required).

The men's team finished fifth at last year's Big Ten Championship meet, which was their best finish since 2019. All-time, Minnesota has won nine conference titles, including five in a seven-year span from 2001-2007.
Individually, the Gophers have claimed 18 individual titles since the 2009-10 season, most recently with Max McHugh winning both the 100 and 200 Breastroke in 2023.
Minnesota, which went 7-2 in dual meets this year, recorded 29 'B' cuts during the regular season. The divers recorded qualifying scores on all but two of their dives this season.
Seven different Gophers have recorded NCAA 'B' cuts so far this season, including four that have hit the provisional mark in multiple events.
Senior Kaiser Neverman leads the team with NCAA 'B' cuts in five events. He holds the team's best times in the 100 free (43.17), 100 breast (52.80), 200 fly (1:42.66) and 200 IM (1:45.97), all of which are 'B' cuts. His season-best time of 46.56 in the 100 fly also hit the provisional mark.
Four-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week honoree, Davide Harabagiu also recorded 'B' cuts in multiple events this season. He owns the team's best times in the 50 free (19.76), 100 back (47.07) and 100 fly (45.94). His 100 fly time of 45.94 at the Minnesota Invite set a new school record.
Junior Bar Soloveychik is the second Gopher with NCAA 'B' cuts in three events. His cuts came in the 200 free (1:35.43), 500 free (4:16.90) and 1650 free (15:00.56).
Senior William Christenson rounds out the Gophers will provisional cuts in multiple events. His time of 3:47.20 in the 400 IM leads the team, while his 1650 free time of 15:15.47 is third.
On top of these swimming performances, freshman divers YuTong Wang and sophomore Drew Bennett have notched qualifying scores in each of the three diving events this season. Wang has hit the qualifying mark in the 1-meter and 3-meter, while Bennett has hit the mark in the platform as well as the 1 and 3-meter dives.
