Big Tens: finished 14th in the 200 free (1:36.31) and 20th in both the 200 fly (1:46.79) and 1650 free (15:50.73)... Purdue/Northwestern Tri-Dual: came in fifth in the 500 free (4:30.42) and sixth in the 200 fly (1:47.06)... Pitt Dual: captured fifth in the 500 free (4:40.72) and sixth in the 200 free (1:42.21)... Tampa Dual: got sixth in the 500 free (5:01.88) and eighth in the 200 fly (2:02.28)... Minnesota Invite: finished 13th in the 200 fly (1:47.85), 18th in the 200 free (1:38.84) and 25th in the 500 free (4:34.71)... Wisconsin Dual: took fifth in the 200 fly (1:50.17) and seventh in the 500 free (4:42.40)... St. Thomas/South Dakota State Tri-Dual: won the 200 fly (1:51.29) and got third in the 500 free (4:38.58)... SMU Dual: came in sixth in the 200 free (1:39.26) and seventh in both the 500 free (4:38.25) and 1000 free (9:40.55)... Nebraska/South Dakota Tri-Dual: captured third in both the 200 fly (1:53.42) and 500 free (4:43.10) in his collegiate debut
High School: Attended Duluth East High School · Two-time section 7AA Athlete of the Year · MSHSCA Class AA Boys Athlete of the Year · set school records in the 200 free, 500 free and was a part of all three of the relay records · set Minnesota Section 7AA records in the 200 free and 500 free · Minnesota State High School Champion in the 200 free and 500 free.
Personal: Son of Tammy and John Wodny · both parents ran cross country at the University of Wyoming · father, John, was a two-time Minnesota State Champion, collegiate All-American and a 2003 inductee of the University of Wyoming Hall of Fame · has three older sisters, Anna, Greta and Clara, who is a swimmer at Luther College · hobbies include playing video games and anything outdoors with friends.
Why Minnesota? I chose the University of Minnesota for the competitive and positive swimming environment and the high-level computer science education and opportunities.
