Maroon and Gold Ready To Tee it Up at Johnnie-O

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota men's golf team is set to compete in the Johnnie-O at Sea Island in St. Simon's Island, Ga.
The two-day, 54-hole stroke play event will take place Monday and Tuesday, on the Plantation Course at Sea Island Resort.

The Lineup:
The Gophers will be represented by graduate seniors Jacob Pedersen and Brock Winter, senior Ben Warian, junior Bennett Swavely, and sophomore Cormac Sharpe.
Competing as individuals, junior Eduardo Galdos and freshman Kyler Schwamb will be making their spring debuts. Sophomore Jack Wetzel will also be competing as an individual.
The Field:
The Gophers will face off with Big Ten rivals No. 16 Illinois, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, and Rutgers. The rest of the field consists of No. 16 Texas, Augusta, Cincinnati, Kansas, Kansas State, Marquette, UNC-Greensboro and Notre Dame.
Last Time Out:
The Gophers finished the Colleton River Collegiate tied for fifth, supported by top-15 finishes from Sharpe and Warian. Sharpe nabbed his highest career finish and score to par (T-10, -6) at the tournament. Warian tallied his seventh straight top-20 finish thanks to three straight rounds under par at last week's event.
