'U' Receives No. 5 Overall Seed in NCAA Tournament

No. 5 Minnesota will face No. 4 Clarkson in Potsdam, NY on Saturday March 16.
MINNEAPOLIS -- The Golden Gopher women's hockey team received the fifth overall seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. No. 5 Minnesota will face No. 4 Clarkson after the NCAA unveiled the 11-team bracket for the 2024 National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Championship on Sunday morning.
Minnesota and Clarkson will play on Saturday, March 16 at Cheel Arena at 1:00 pm CT.
Receiving an at-large bid, Minnesota is making its 21st overall appearance in the NCAA postseason. The Gophers will look to return to the Frozen Four after making their 15th trip to the event last season.
Colgate (ECAC Hockey), Penn State (CHA), Stonehill (NEWHA), UCONN (Hockey East) and Wisconsin (WCHA) earned the five automatic bids by winning their respective conference tournaments while Ohio State, Clarkson, Minnesota, Minnesota-Duluth, Cornell and St. Lawrence earned at-large bids.

Quarterfinal competition will take place on the campuses of the four host institutions with the winners advancing to the 2024 Women's Frozen Four on Friday, March 22 and Sunday, March 24 at the Whittemore Center in Durham, NH.
Minnesota and Clarkson will play on Saturday, March 16 at Cheel Arena at 1:00 pm CT.
