Lauren Pearl Named Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week

It's the first Big Ten weekly award of her career
MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota junior Lauren Pearl was named Co-Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week on Tuesday, the Big Ten announced. It's the first time in her career she's taken home the award.
Minnesota was extremely strong on the floor once again, going for a 49.325. Lauren Pearl led the way, tying her career-high with her second consecutive 9.950. She also posted a career-high with a 9.875 on vault and helped the team tie a season-best on beam with a 49.475. Pearl contributed a 9.850 to the team beam effort.
The No. 16 Gophers (13-6, 6-3 Big Ten) take on Air Force, Northern Illinois and West Virginia in a quad meet at Maturi Pavilion on Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m. B1G+ will stream the meet. Minnesota will be celebrating senior day, honoring seniors Gianna Gerdes, Mya Hooten, Katie Horak, Emily Koch and Ella Sirjord.
The 'U' will begin postseason competition next Saturday, March 23 at the Big Ten Championships in East Lansing, Mich.
