Eight Gopher Men will Swim at 2024 NCAA Championships

MINNEAPOLIS - Eight members of the Gopher men's swim team will represent the 'U' at the 2024 NCAA Division I Championships, Mar. 27-30, in Indianapolis, Ind., announced by the NCAA on Wednesday.
Individually, Kaiser Neverman, Bar Soloveychik, Chris Nagy and Davide Harabagiu will compete, while Casey Stowe, Joe Rudd, Matt McDonald and Lovro Serdarevic join as relay members.
Senior Kaiser Neverman earned a spot into the 200 IM. His time of 1:42.75 at the Big Ten Championships broke the school record and garnered him the bronze medal. He is also eligible to compete in the 100 fly (46.56) and 200 fly (1:42.47 - school record) after recording provisional cuts in the event during the season.
Fellow senior Chris Nagy qualified in the 1650 free. His top time of 14:46.36 ranks 14th in the nation. He is also eligible to compete in the 500 free after getting a provisional cut of 4:21.45 at the Big Ten Championships.
Like Neverman, junior Bar Soloveychik will also compete in three events. Soloveychik earned spots in both the 500 and 1650 free. His 500 free time of 4:11.49 set the school record and ranks eighth in the nation. With a time of 14:45.59 in the 1650 free at the Big Ten Championships, he secured a new PR and a silver medal. The junior is also eligible to compete in the 200 free after a school record breaking performance at the Big Ten Championships with a time of 1:33.37.
Freshman Davide Harabagiu will make his NCAA debut after qualifying in the 100 fly. Harabagiu broke the school record in the event three times during the season, most recently to place fourth at the Big Ten Championships with a time of 45.19. He is also eligible to swim in the 50 free (19.56) and the 100 free (42.95) thanks to provisional cuts throughout the season.
The other four Gophers all qualified as part of relay teams, as Minnesota will take part in the 400 medley relay and 400 free relay.
The 400 medley team ranks 18th after its time of 3:05.34 set at the Big Ten Championships, while the 400 free relay team ranks 27th with a time of 2:51.51.
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis will serve as the host for the 2024 NCAA Championships. The meet will take place at the IU Natatorium with prelims starting at 9:00 a.m. CT Thursday through Saturday and finals at 5:00 p.m. CT.
