TUCSON, Ariz. -- The University of Minnesota women's golf team completed the first 18 holes of the Mountain View Collegiate today.
As a team, Minnesota sits in 13th place at the end of round one. The Golden Gophers completed the day with a team score of 302 (+14). Sophomore Isabella McCauley leads the team tied for second place after shooting a four-under-par 68 in round one.
South Florida leads the tournament with a six-under-par team score of 282.
Notable:
McCauley leads the Gophers individually after carding a bogey free round. The sophomore's four-under-par 68 has her tied for second place headed into round two.
Graduate Grace Curran completed the first round of play with a score of 76 (+4). She is tied for 52nd place after tallying three birdies and eight pars.
Graduate Megan Furtney finished day one tied for 67th place. She carded ten pars and three birdies for a round one score of 78 (+6).
Graduate Emma Carpenter notched two birdies and eight pars in the first round of play. She completes the day tied for 75th place with a score of 80 (+8).
Senior Hailey Loh posted an 82 (+10) in round one. She is tied for 79th place and added one birdie and seven pars.

"Really proud of the round that Bella produced today," said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "Given the conditions we played in, it was a truly remarkable round. Collectively we just need to do a better job. We fortunately have two more rounds to play much better golf."
