McCauley Leads Gophers After Day One of Buckeye Invitational

COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The University of Minnesota women's golf team completed the two rounds of play at the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational earlier today. The Gophers moved three places up the leaderboard after improving by 14 strokes between sessions. Minnesota is tied for eighth place at 28-over par (309-295--604).
Sophomore Isabella McCauley leads the Gophers tied for ninth place after 36 holes.
The Ohio State University leads the 12-team field after the first day of play with a score of two-under par.
Notable:
After carding a four-over 76 in her first round, McCauley improved by five strokes between sessions to add a second round 71 (-1). She tallied five birdies and 24 pars through the first 36 holes of the tournament and stands tied for ninth place.
Graduate Grace Curran improved by three strokes between sessions to post a day one score of 77-75-152 (+8). She carded three birdies and 24 pars across both rounds and sits in a tie for 32nd place.
Emma Carpenter moved 22 places up the leaderboard after improving by eight strokes between sessions. She tallied seven birdies and 19 pars to post a day one score of 81-73-154 (+10). Carpenter sits tied for 41st place.
Making her spring debut, sophomore Ruby Chi posted a day one score of 77-79-156 (+12). She notched three birdies and 22 pars to end the first two rounds tied for 56th place.
Senior Hailey Loh was disqualified after round one for signing an incorrect scorecard.
