The Gophers posted their sixth-highest team score of all-time

MINNEAPOLIS. -- The No. 16 University of Minnesota women's gymnastics team (16-6, 6-3 B1G) finished their regular season by going 3-0 in their senior day quad meet. The Gophers posted a season-best score of 197.725, a number that tied for the sixth-highest score ever at the 'U'.

"We just keep getting better each and every week," said head coach Jenny Hansen. "That's what our focus is and we are peaking at the right time. We need to bring this performance again next weekend."

West Virginia came in second with a score of 196.000 while Northern Illinois (195.875) took third and Air Force (195.125) placed fourth.

The Gophers tallied their fourth score of over 197.000 on the season and best since scoring 197.525 at Penn State on Feb. 3. The 'U' also tallied over 197 at Alabama (197.400) and versus Michigan (197.375) on Feb. 10.

In individual events, Minnesota posted its best beam score (49.625) and floor score (49.675) of the season, including their third best all-time in beam and fifth best in floor.

"We have so much confidence in our beam and floor teams. That's what we do in practice and seeing that translate to the meets is all we can hope for."

Sarah Moraw took home the vault event title with a score of 9.900 while Jordyn Lyden won on bars (9.925). Emily Koch and Lauren Pearl (9.950) tied for the beam title while Mya Hooten posted her ninth career perfect 10 to win the floor title, her 47th career event title.

Koch posted career-highs on both beam and floor (9.950) while Pearl earned another career-best on beam (9.950). Lyden posted her second score on bars over 9.900 this season.

"You hoped that would be the way it goes for Mya, but you just never know," Hansen said. "To have her land that perfect 10 in front of this crowd was the best way to cap the meet off."

Air Force's Maggie Slife took home the all-around title of the year with a score of 39.400.
