MINNEAPOLIS – Two Gophers earned All-Big Ten accolades after the team finished fifth overall at the Big Ten Championships in Columbus, Ohio this week.

Freshman YuTong Wang was named First-Team All-Big Ten, while junior Bar Soloveychik was named to the second team.

Wang was the 2024 Big Ten Champion in the 1-meter dive, knocking off the defending NCAA Champion. He followed up that performance with a fifth-place finish in the 3-meter.

Soloveychik opened up the Big Ten Championships by breaking the school record in the 200 free with a time of 1:33.37. The following day, he placed second and smashed the 500 free school record with a time of 4:11.49. He finished fourth in the 200 free on Friday with a time of 1:33.66 before finishing his meet with a second-place finish in the 1650 free. His time of 14:45.59 was a new personal record.

In addition to Soloveychik, the Gophers got five podium finishes on the final day of competition and broke yet another school record.

Swimming in the 200 fly finals, senior Kaiser Neverman beat his own school record on his way to a ninth-place finish. His time of 1:42.47 was an NCAA 'B' cut and was his second school record of the meet.

Chris Nagy picked up a podium finish for Minnesota in the 1650 free with a time of 14:58.97. Freshman Davide Harabagiu continued his impressive Big Ten Championship debut with a seventh-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 42.95.

Joe Rudd represented the 'U' on the podium with a seventh-place finish in the 200 breast at 1:55.59, while Drew Bennett finished fourth in platform diving with a score of 380.70.

The 400 free relay team of Harabagiu, Neverman, Lovro Serdarevic and Casey Stowe swam their fastest time of the year en route to a fifth-place finish. Their time of 2:51.51 was an NCAA 'B' cut.

As a team, Minnesota finished in fifth with 849.5 points. Indiana won the team title, followed by Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin.
