Bouveng Records Five Points in 7-1 Gopher Win

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota women's hockey team followed up Friday's loss with a 7-1 win, evening its first-round series with Minnesota State at one game apiece.
Sophomore Josefin Bouveng recorded five points in the game, scoring twice and adding three assists. Her point total on Saturday marked her career high in a single game.
Fifth-year goaltender Lucy Morgan started between the pipes for the Maroon and Gold and made 17 saves.
The Gophers put together an opening frame that included five goals, two of which came from Bouveng. Madeline Wethington, Abbey Murphy and Ella Huber also scored in the period. Bouveng assisted two of the other three goals that were scored in the first 20 minutes.
Minnesota picked up two more goals in the second, with Murphy finding the net again and Madison Kaiser lighting the lamp as well.
In total, the Maroon and Gold had five different goal-scorers and seven players record at least one point.

"Really solid win in a bounce back game for our team," head coach Brad Frost said. "Our top line with Josefin [Bouveng], Ella [Huber] and [Abbey] Murphy really got us going.
