Soloveychik Breaks Second School Record, Named All American on Day Three

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Junior Bar Soloveychik broke the school record in the 1650 free on his way to being named an All-American on Saturday evening at the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis, Ind.

After breaking the school record in the 500 free on Thursday, Soloveychik hopped back on the blocks on Saturday and broke the record in the 1650 free. He finished in 14:41.40 to place seventh overall and earn All-American honors.

Senior Chris Nagy joined Soloveychik in the 1650 free. He finished the distance race in 14:50.32.

In Saturday's prelims, senior Kaiser Neverman finished his season with a 1:42.73 in the 200 fly.

Drew Bennett took to the tower for the platform dive and scored a 312.60 in the preliminary round.

The Minnesota 400 free relay team of Davide Harabagiu, Lovro Serdarevic, Neverman and Casey Stowe combined for a time of 2:52.14 to end the night for the Gophers.

As a team, the Gophers finished 20th. The 'U' has finished in the top 25 for 33 straight years, including six straight years of finishing 21st or better.
