Round Two of Colleton River Delayed, Gophers End Day One in Second

MINNEAPOLIS - Senior Ben Warian and sophomore Cormac Sharpe are tied for fifth-place after the opening day at the Colleton River Collegiate in Bluffton, S.C
Though the tournament originally called for 36 holes Monday, the second round of the Colleton River Collegiate was delayed until Tuesday due to a lack of daylight.
The Maroon and Gold sit in a tie for second with Chattanooga and Missouri at 17-under par. Georgia Southern holds the top spot at 25-under par.
Notable:
Sharpe and Warian sit in a three-way tie for fifth-place with a score of 7-under par. Sharpe notched a 4-under 68 in his first round, and Warian carded a 3-under 69 in his first 18 holes. Both Sharpe and Warian nabbed four birdies through their first 14 holes of the second round late on Monday.
Graduate senior Jacob Pedersen currently sits in a tie for 26th at 2-under par after carding eight birdies through his first 13 holes. Junior Bennett Swavely sits one shot back of Pedersen at 1-under par and in a tie for 37th.
Graduate senior Brock Winter is in a tie for 77th after his first 32 holes.
Making his spring debut and competing as an individual, sophomore Jack Wetzel is three shots back of Winter and in a tie for 76th.
