Minnesota Wraps Up Day One of The Show in Ninth

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- The University of Minnesota women's golf team completed 36-holes of play today at The Show at Spanish Trail. Minnesota moved one place up the leaderboard between rounds after improving by six strokes between sessions. The Golden Gophers are currently in ninth place with a score of 299-293--592 (+16).
Senior Hailey Loh leads the Gophers in a tie for 20th place after posting a one-over-par 73 in round two.
UCLA finished the first two rounds at the top of the leaderboard with a day-one total of 574 (-2).

"We really struggled early in the first round, but found a way to piece together a decent 36-hole total," said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "This is a very challenging golf course which is advantageous for us heading into the third round. We know if we play smart process oriented golf we can continue to move up the leaderboard."
Notable:
Senior Hailey Loh played consistently across rounds with a day one score of 74-73-147 (+3). She leads Minnesota in a tie for 20th place headed into day two.
Graduate Emma Carpenter improved by four strokes between sessions with a first round score of 76 (+4) and a second round score of 72 (E). She is tied for 23rd after day one of play.
Graduate Grace Curran tallied a day one score of 76-74-150 (+6). Curran is in a tie for 39th place with 18-holes to play.
Freshman Sara Tomaszewski posted a round one score of 73 (+1) followed by a round two score of 78 (+6). She ends the day tied for 42nd place.
Sophomore Isabella McCauley improved by four strokes between rounds. She is tied for 50th place with a two-round score of 78-74-152 (+8).
Competing as an individual, Graduate Megan Furtney finished day one with a two-round score of 75-74-149 (+5). She's tied for 30th place.
