Minnesota has a full week, including a midweek series against UNCG on Tuesday along with an appearance at the Tiger Invitational Thursday through Saturday.
Tracking the Spartans
Tuesday's midweek matchup against the Spartans is the eighth meeting between the two teams. Minnesota leads the series 6-1, they haven't competed against one another since 2014. UNCG is 11-10 on the 2024 season with a four game win streak. The Spartans took three over Elon and one over Kennesaw State.
Tracking the Tigers
Sitting in the top ten in both major polls, the Tigers look ahead to their fourth home appearance of the season at McWhorter Stadium. Clemson is 12-4 on the year with losses against Missouri, Mississippi State, Georgia, and NC State.
Tracking the Lancers
Minnesota will face Longwood on Friday for the second time in program history. The Golden Gophers defeated the Lancers 6-3 in 2022 at a neutral site tournament in Orlando. The Lancers are 6-10 on the season and will compete against Tennessee, Virginia, and Fordham before playing the Gophers.
Tracking the Bears
Before playing the Golden Gophers this weekend, Mercer has games against Florida A&M, Fordham, and Clemson. Friday's game will be the third meeting, with the series tied at 1-1. Mercer took the last win in 2015, 5-2, in Boca Raton, Fla., at a neutral site tournament.
Tracking the Rams
Friday's game between Minnesota and Fordham will be the third this season. In Charlotte, the Golden Gophers defeated the Rams 10-2 (five innings) and 10-4.
Jess at the Top
Sophomore Jess Oakland had a stellar performance through four games over the weekend. The shortstop averaged .600 and drove in 11 runs. She also hit five home runs, including two home runs in back-to-back games for the first time since Natalie DenHartog in 2022.
Ehlke Stays Fierce
Designated player Maddy Ehlke is also showing up offensively for the Golden Gophers. In 13 plate appearances through the last four games, Ehlke tacked on five hits, two runs, including a home run and five RBI.
Stellar Strelow
Sydney Strelow's bat has been hot and continues to stay hot after a productive performance in Charlotte. Strelow secured three hits, two of which were home runs through 13 plate appearances.
Easy Breezy
Sophomore Breezy Burnett secured her first home run of the year against Charlotte on Sunday evening. She also is 9-for-9 in stolen bases on the season, and continues her streak to 10. Against Fordham on Saturday, Breezy stole twice.
