The Gophers defeated Fordham for the third time
CLEMSON, SC -Â Junior Taylor Krapf had two hits, helping the Minnesota Golden Gophers to win a close one on Saturday, as they took down the Fordham Rams 4-2.
Senior Bri Enter (7-3) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Minnesota (13-9). The right-hander went 5.2 shutout innings while giving up four hits, allowing no walks and striking out three.
Krapf led the way offensively for the Golden Gophers, going 2-for-3 in the ballgame with two RBI. Sophomore Jess Oakland furnished a noteworthy effort as well, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Graduate Sydney Strelow also chipped in, going 1-for-2 for Minnesota with two walks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gophers were trailing 2-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. Minnesota got an RBI single from Krapf, scoring Oakland from second base.
The Gophers kept the Rams off the board before taking the lead in the fifth. Minnesota scored three times, picking up one on an RBI base knock off the bat of Krapf, which brought the Gophers lead to 4-2. The score remained 4-2 for the rest of the game, as Minnesota held on for the win.
