Warian In Fourth After First Round of Big Ten Championships

MINNEAPOLIS - Senior Ben Warian leads the University of Minnesota after the first 18 holes of the Big Ten Championships Friday at Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio.
The Gophers finished the first round of the conference championship in ninth place with a score of 13-over par (293). Northwestern holds the top spot with a score of even-par (280).
Notable:
Warian finished his day with a 1-under 69 in his first 18 holes, tallying four birdies on the day. The Gopher senior currently holds the fourth individual spot and is just two shots back of Michigan State's August Meekhof for first place.
Graduate Senior Brock Winter currently sits in a tie for 32nd with a score of 4-over par.
Fellow graduate senior Jacob Pedersen and junior Bennett Swavely sit one shot back of Winter, with both carding a 5-over 75 in the first round.
Sophomore Cormac Sharpe finished his first round at 8-over par and tied for 61st.
