MINNEAPOLIS - University of Minnesota men's golfer Ben Warian has been selected to represent the Maroon and Gold as an individual in the 2024 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships, it was announced Wednesday.

The Gopher senior garnered the No. 2 seed in the Stanford Regional, which will be held at Stanford Golf Course, May 13-15.

Regionals will consist of 81 teams and 45 individuals competing at one of six 54-hole regional championship sites. The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.

Team and individual medalist titles will then be decided May 24-29 at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.

Named to the All-Big Ten Second team, Warian tallied 11 top-20 finishes this season, including a win at the High Meadows Intercollegiate, where he set the program's 36-hole scoring record (128), 54-hole scoring record (198), and led the Gophers to their first win since 2022.

In his 12 stroke play events this season, Warian led the team in scoring average (70.00), rounds under par (8), score to par (-15), and low round of 18 (63).

This is Warian's second consecutive selection as an individual to the NCAA Regionals tournament.

With Warian's selection to the Bath Regional, this now marks 29 of the past 32 years a Gopher has made an appearance in the NCAA Regionals.
