Eleven to Join Women’s Swimming and Diving Program

MINNEAPOLIS– The University of Minnesota women's swimming and diving program welcomes 11 newcomers for the 2024-2025 season. The class will feature eight swimmers and three divers, representing nine states and one country, including a pair from Minnesota.
Also rejoining the Gophers for their fifth year is Indy Jongman (Freestyle/Backstroke/IM), and Paula Rodriguez (Backstroke). Jongman is a three time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, and currently sits eighth in team history in 200 back (1:56.08) and 10th in 100 back (53.85). Rodriguez is a 2024 Academic All-Big Ten honoree, and currently sits fourth in team history in 200 back (1:54.59) and fifth for 100 back (52.78).
Hannah Clark
Plainfield, IN - Plainfield High School
Coach Zhou says: "Hannah brings a friendly and welcoming energy, creating a warm and inviting environment with her enthusiastic and kind personality. She already showed her hardworking spirit during her official visit. We're excited to see what she will accomplish over the next four years."

Coach Busack says: "Rachel brings excellent depth to our lineup with her talents in both free and fly and has demonstrated consistent improvement with her commitment to the sport. An elite student as well, she is no stranger to the balance of academics and athletics and will hit the ground running. She will help our program right from the start and we are excited to watch her impact grow throughout her time as a Gopher."

Georgia Kahler
Louisville, KY - Sacred Heart Academy
Coach Busack says: "Georgia Kahler is a fantastic competitor coming to us from the Lakeside Swim Team in Kentucky. She is a key component of a young group of breaststrokers and has ability in sprint free as well. Coming from one of the best clubs in the country and with a background of swimming that includes earning finals swims at elite junior national level meets, she is a very welcome addition to our team."
Mira Keller
North Tonawanda, NY - Niagara Wheatfield High School
Coach Busack says: "There aren't too many events where we won't count on Mira to make an impact for the team. Her versatility is a major asset to our program. She comes to us with the highest recommendations from her coaches back home. We are excited to work with her and watch her career as a Gopher take off."

Paige Moreen
Minneapolis, MN - Minneapolis Washburn High School
Coach Busack says: "Paige is a lot of things: hard working, elite student, team oriented, and a great person to name a few. It was clear early on in the recruiting process she was a good fit for Minnesota and we have been impressed by her commitment to swimming. Right from the start, Paige will bring excellent depth to our sprint freestyle ranks. We will lean on her heavily there both individually and on relays. Keeping our Minnesota talent in state is a priority and we are thrilled Paige chose The U."
Keira Mullins

Coach Busack says: "Keira Mullins comes to Minnesota after making a quick decision late this spring to forgo a gap year and we couldn't be happier to have her joining us this fall. She shines bright in the breaststroke events and is clearly an athlete with her ability across multiple disciplines. We are looking forward to the combination of her talent, work ethic, and ambitious goals carrying on a strong tradition of Canadians impacting our program's success."

Coach Busack says: "Kami's strengths lie in sprint back, free, and fly events with underwater kicking being a particular superpower for her. We are excited about her versatility as a swimmer, her improvement curve, and her genuine spirit. Kami will add great depth and versatility to our program and she will be competing for relay spots as well. We are thrilled Kami chose Minnesota and are looking forward to working with her."
Peyton Ross
Sarasota, FL - Riverview High School
Coach Busack says: "Peyton is a versatile swimmer who particularly excels in the IM and Fly events. Her commitment and dedication to the process has paid off with consistent to dramatic improvements over the years. Coming from Sarasota Sharks she can flat out train and is used to racing in an elite environment. Her event line up is a very competitive one and we can't wait to lean on her skill set."
Livi Wanner
Waukesha, WI - Waukesha West/Catholic Memorial
Coach Busack says: "Livi Wanner is an elite sprint freestyle specialist and one of the top prospective student-athletes of the class of 2024. She will have an immediate impact on our team individually and will make our relays stronger. She is highly motivated, team oriented, and possesses strong leadership skills. Livi is one of the top prospects in the class of 2024 and we are very excited about how she will contribute athletically, academically, and culturally within our program."
