WBCA Honors Gophers on Academic Honor Roll

Eight Big Ten programs were honored by the WBCA for their work in the classroom.
MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota women's basketball team was recognized by the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) with a special mention on the annual Academic Honor Roll. The WBCA Academic Honor Roll recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season.
Minnesota is one of eight Big Ten institutions that had their women's basketball program's honored by the organization after posting a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher after the 2023-24 academic year. The 'U' posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.550; Youngstown State posted the top GPA in the country at 3.868.
The 2023-24 season is the 29th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls. Minnesota has been honored as a top 25 team in the classroom three times, with honors coming in 2022-23, 2020-21 and 2004-05. This is the fourth time in six seasons that the team has been honored by the organization.
