Big Ten Releases 2024-25 Men's Hockey Schedule

Regular season begins Oct. 11
ROSEMONT, Ill. - As puck drop for the 2024-25 University of Minnesota men's hockey season rapidly approaches, the Big Ten Conference announced the league portion of the schedule Wednesday. Game times and broadcast information will be announced at a later date.
The Golden Gophers' 36-game regular season, plus one exhibition contest, features 18 contests at 3M Arena at Mariucci, while 10 of the team's 12 non-conference outings will take place inside the State of Hockey.
Big Ten play again features a double-round-robin format where each team plays both a home and an away series with the other six conference members for a total of 12 home and 12 away matchups.
After three weekends of non-conference action to begin the campaign, B1G play opens Nov. 1-2 as the Maroon and Gold welcomes Penn State to Dinkytown for a series. The first conference road trip takes place the following week as the Gophers and Badgers renew a Border Battle rivalry at Kohl Center (Nov. 8-9).
Following a trip to South Bend, Ind., to face Notre Dame (Nov. 22-23), Minnesota does not leave the friendly ice at 3M Arena at Mariucci until the middle of January as it plays four-straight series at home, including a pair of non-conference matchups. The Gophers host Michigan (Dec. 6-7) and Michigan State (Dec. 13-14) on consecutive weekends to close the first half of the season.
The remainder of the conference slate alternates between road and home series across an eight-week stretch. The 'U' hits the road early in 2025 when it travels to Ohio State (Jan. 10-11) for the first matchup of the season against the Buckeyes before returning home to battle the Fighting Irish (Jan. 17-18).
A visit to Munn Ice Arena, home of the defending B1G regular season and tournament champion Michigan State, is set for Jan. 24-25, while the second meeting of the Border Battle with Wisconsin follows at 3M Arena at Mariucci (Jan. 31-Feb. 1).
The Gophers make another trip to the state of Michigan, this time to face off with the Wolverines (Feb. 14-15) at Yost Ice Arena. The final home series takes place Feb. 21-22 as the Maroon and Gold host Ohio State before the regular season ends Feb. 28-Mar. 1 on the road at Penn State's Pegula Ice Arena.
