MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota cross country teams kicked off the 2024 cross country campaign on Friday night at the Oz Memorial at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights. Noah Kohut-Jackson and Ali Weimer were the winners of the two races held at sunset.Â
Weimer's victory in 18:19.1, at the Oz Memorial is her first career college victory while Kohut-Jackson's 15:56.2 was a personal best 5K time and also his first win. A total of six men and four women made their official debut in a Maroon and Gold uniform with Emmett Gerres' fourth place finish on the men's side being the top of the 10 first-time Gophers.Â

Minnesota will take three weeks to prepare for the 38th Roy Griak Invitational that is scheduled for September 20, at the Les Bolstad Golf Course. Â
