'U' Sends 31 to 2024-25 NHL Training Camps

NCAA-best 125 Gophers have reached the NHL
MINNEAPOLIS - Thirty-one former men's hockey players from the University of Minnesota are taking part in National Hockey League training camps for the 2024-25 season, representing 21 different NHL organizations. Included in the group that spans more than 15 years of Golden Gophers hockey are 13 former captains and nine All-Americans.
A year ago, the Maroon and Gold had 21 former players earn a spot on NHL opening night rosters, while five more were called up after the start of the regular season. Minnesota has had 125 all-time players reach the NHL, the most of any NCAA hockey program. At the end of the 2023-24 NHL campaign, Kyle Okposo won the Stanley Cup for the first time in his professional career, marking the third-straight season a Gopher skated with the trophy.
