FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
1.
Winners of four straight at home, Minnesota (4-2, 2-1 B1G) welcomes No. 25/RV Nebraska (5-1, 2-1) to Huntington Bank Stadium for a Friday night matchup. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Fox and the Gopher Radio Network.

2. As noted above, Minnesota has won all four home games this season. That winning streak at Huntington Bank Stadium is the team's longest since winning the first six games there in 2019. The last time the Gophers won their first four home games in a season was also in 2019 when they started the year 6-0 in Minneapolis. A stat breakdown of the home slate so far in 2025 can be seen in the box on Page 1 of the game notes.

3. Minnesota is facing an AP Top-25 team for the second time this season as it takes on the 25th-ranked Cornhuskers. In the other ranked game, the Gophers fell at No. 1 Ohio State on Oct. 4. A win Friday would be the seventh Associated Press top-25 win for the Gophers under P.J. Fleck, which would break a tie with Bernie Bierman and Murray Warmath for the most in program history (see chart on Page 3). Minnesota has won three of its last four games against teams ranked outside of the top 10. The Gophers are facing a ranked Nebraska team for the first time since 2016 and are 3-12 in the series when the Huskers are ranked. All-time against the No. 25 AP team, Minnesota is 2-2, including a win in its most recent such game, a 34-23 win over Nebraska in 2013.

4. Redshirt freshman Drake Lindsey is having a standout debut season as the starter in the Maroon and Gold. He's 113-of-188 (60.1 percent) for 1,284 yards with nine touchdowns and three interceptions, good for an efficiency rating of 130.1. According to Pro Football Focus, Lindsey's offensive grade of 82.5 is fourth in the Big Ten and 13th nationally among the QBs who have as many dropbacks (199) as Lindsey does. His passing grade of 81.7 also ranks fourth in the league and is ninth in the FBS among those passers. Lindsey has already established himself as one of the top freshman QBs in Minnesota history. Midway through the season, he's only 117 passing yards behind Tanner Morgan (1,401) for second place by a Gopher freshman, and he's one passing TD back of Rickey Foggie (10) for second. Adam Weber holds both records with 2,895 passing yards and 24 touchdowns thrown.

5. The 2025 campaign is the ninth for P.J. Fleck at Minnesota. He is the fifth-longest tenured coach in program history and the second-longest active tenured coach in the Big Ten. Fleck's record stands at 62-41, putting him fifth in program history in overall wins and games coached (103), in addition to ranking fourth in Big Ten wins (36). Fleck's overall win percentage of .602 is third best among Minnesota coaches with at least 45 games under their helm behind only Henry L. Williams (.786, 1900-21) and Bernie Bierman (.716, 1932-41, '45-50). In his 13th season overall as a college head coach, Fleck is 92-63 (.594).
