Minnesota Falls to Alabama 63-58

NASSAU - The University of Minnesota women's basketball team (5-2, 0-0 Big Ten) fell to the Alabama Crimson Tide (7-0, 0-0 SEC) 63-58 at Baha Mar Convention Center Wednesday evening.
Sophie Hart added eight points to her 11-rebound game for the Golden Gophers. Grace Grocholski helped out with 18 points and six rebounds and Brylee Glenn chipped in with 13 points and four assists.
How It Happened
Minnesota struggled out of the gate, falling behind 16-8 at the end of the first quarter. The Gophers chipped away at that deficit in the second, but the Crimson Tide took a 27-17 lead heading into halftime.
Minnesota came out of the locker room and bounced back as Grocholski and Glenn scored eight points followed by Amaya Battle's seven. The Gophers finished the third trailing 44-43.
In the fourth quarter, Minnesota evened it up at 55-55. Alabama then asserted control, outscoring the Gophers rest of the way to hand Minnesota the 63-58 loss.
