Fitzgerald Named D1Baseball Top 100 Outfielder

MINNEAPOLIS – Red-shirt senior Josh Fitzgerald was named a D1Baseball No. 74 outfielder on the Top 100 list.
Fitzgerald had a breakout 2024 season after being sidelined by an ACL injury in 2023. He appeared in 42 games and ranked in the top ten of the Big Ten in numerous categories.
His batting average of .360 ranked ninth and led the team, on-base percentage of .467 (sixth), slugging percentage of .623 (fifth), and his OPS of 1.100 was fourth in the Big Ten. Fitzgerald was named to the 2024 Second Team All-Big Ten Team.
Fitzgerald was also perfect on the base paths with 11 stolen bases. He tallied nine home runs, 38 RBIs and 31 runs scored.
Josh joins Weber Neels and Jake Perry as they were named to the D1Baseball Preseason Player Rankings Top 50 list for their respective positions.
The Gopher baseball team is set to open the 2025 season Feb. 14th at the University of Houston.
