Gophers End Day One of Puerto Rico Classic Tied for 15th

RIO GRANDE, P.R.- The University of Minnesota women's golf team finished round one of the Puerto Rico Classic tied for 15th place. The Gophers closed the round with a team score of 305 (+17).
Freshman Reese McCauley and sophomore Mariana Mesones lead the Gophers, tied for 50th after both shooting a three-over-par 75.
Vanderbilt sits at the top of the leaderboard with a team score of 283 (-5).
Notable:
Junior Isabella McCauley carded a round one 77(+5). She added 13 pars to her scorecard to close out the round tied for
Madison Le shot a seven-over-par 79. The junior tallied two birdies and nine pars to finish the day tied for 86th.
Sophomore Sara Tomaszewski pencilled a six-over-par 78 in round one. She is tied for 81st place after notching one birdie and 12 pars.

The second round of the Puerto Rico Classic will take place tomorrow, Feb. 3. The round will begin with a shotgun start at 6:30 a.m. CT.
