Minnesota Closes Round Two of Puerto Rico Classic in 15th

RIO GRANDE, P.R.- The University of Minnesota women's golf team closed out round two of the Puerto Rico Classic today, remaining in 15th place. The Gophers improved by 13 strokes between rounds for a two-day score of 305-292-597 (+21).
Junior standout Isabella McCauley headlined the team individually, shooting a bogey-free 69 (-3). The Minnesota native grabbed three birdies and 15 pars to close the day tied for 32nd.
Vanderbilt remains atop the team leaderboard with a score of 283-282-565 (-11).
Notable:
Freshman Reese McCauley and sophomore Mariana Mesones both are tied for 44th place and have a day two score of 75-73-148(+4). McCauley nabbed three birdies and 11 pars. Mesones tallied one birdie and 15 pars.
Sara Tomaszewski shot a 77 (+5) to close the second round tied for 88th with a total score of 78-77-155 (+11).
Junior Madison Le is tied for 92nd place. She has a two-day score of 79-79-158 (+14).

The final round of the Puerto Rico Classic will take place tomorrow, Feb. 4. The round will begin with a shotgun start at 5:30 a.m. CT.
