PEORIA, Ariz.- The University of Minnesota women's golf team is tied for fourth place after completing 36 holes of the Westbrook Invitational. Minnesota maintained its spot on the leaderboard between rounds and posted a day one score of 288-284-572 (-4). Minnesota native Isabella McCauley leads the Gophers individually tied for fifth place.

Kansas leads the field with a day-one total of 550(-26).

Notable:
Isabella McCauley grabbed nine birdies to finish the day with two under par rounds. She closed day one with a two-round score of 70-68-138(-6).

Mariana Mesones is tied for ninth place with a day one score of 70-69-139 (-5). The sophomore tallied six birdies and secured a bogey-free round two to secure her spot in the top ten.

Junior Ruby Chi added four birdies to close the first day of competition tied for 44th place with a score of 73-75-148(+4).

Sophomore Sara Tomaszewski has a day one score of 75-77-152 (+8). She sits tied for 63rd place.

Freshman Reese McCauley improved by nine strokes between rounds and added four birdies to her scorecard in round two. She ended the day tied for 67th with a score of 81-72-153 (+9).

Looking Ahead:
The team is back in action tomorrow, Feb. 24, for round three of the Westbrook Invitational. Play will begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. CT.
