MINNEAPOLIS - Head coach Brad Frost has been named a 2024-25 Division I Women's Coach of the Year Finalist by the American Hockey Coaches Association, sponsored by CCM Hockey. Frost will coach in his 11th Frozen Four with the Gopher women's hockey program this weekend at Ridder Arena.

This season, Frost has guided the Gophers to a 29-11-1 record and the fourth overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. The 2024-25 season saw the Maroon & Gold reach the WCHA Final Faceoff Championship after upsetting Ohio State in the semifinal round, then defeating Colgate in the NCAA Regional Final to secure the program's 16th all-time Frozen Four appearance. After a 4-1 victory against UConn in the season's opening game, Frost became the fourth coach in Division I women's hockey history to reach the 500 win mark.

This season marks the 11th time Frost has been named an AHCA Coach of the Year Finalist. He most recently won the award in back-to-back years in 2013 and 2014. In his 18 seasons at the helm of the Gophers, he has compiled a 528-120-42 record, four national titles, seven WCHA regular season titles, and five WCHA tournament championships.
