Dawson Garcia had 19 points and eight rebounds and Frank Mitchell had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, allowing Minnesota (15-16, 7-13 Big Ten) to rally from an 11-point second-half deficit and force overtime, but Rutgers (15-16, 8-12 B1G) held on for a 75-67 win at Jersey Mike's Arena.
Ā
Garcia made 8-of-19 field goals to finish in double-figures for the 26th time this season, and Mitchell's point-rebound double-double was his second in a row and third in the past seven games. Lu'Cye Patterson also reached double-digits with 12 points, Femi Odukale had nine points, seven boards, a team-high four assists, and a pair of steals, Brennan Rigsby added seven points and four rebounds, and Isaac Asuma had six points and tied Odukale with four assists.

Rutgers was led by Dylan Harper's 22 points and six boards, while Dylan Grant added 12 points and six rebounds, and Ace Bailey added six points and nine caroms.
Ā
Parker Fox opened the scoring with a tip-in, and Rutgers followed with a 5-0 run before Garcia knocked down a three to tie the score. Minnesota used a 6-3 run, with back-to-back layups by Mitchell, to build a 13-10 lead with 13:06 left in the half. Layups by Asuma and Mitchell put the Gophers up 17-14, but a 4-0 RU run gave it a one-point lead. Rigsby and Asuma added layups as the Gophers reclaimed a 21-18 edge, but the Scarlet Knights went on a 15-4 run to create separation at 33-25 with 4:10 left. The Gophers cut it to 33-28, but RU closed the half on a 5-1 run to lead 38-29 at the break.

Garcia led Minnesota with nine first-half points, with Mitchell adding six points, and Patterson, Asuma, and Rigsby each having four. The Gophers were 12-of-31 (.387) from the field, but just 1-of-6 (.167) from three-point range, and 4-of-7 (.571) at the line.
