Game Themes for 2025 Season Announced

Minnesota starts the season on August 28 at home against Buffalo
Gopher Athletics announced today the game themes for the 2025 football season, which begins on Thursday, August 28 when Minnesota hosts Buffalo at Huntington Bank Stadium. Season tickets are available now and single game tickets will be available in July.
The 2025 football game themes are listed below.
August 28 vs. Buffalo – Gold Out
Fans are encouraged to wear Gold for the 2025 home opener against Buffalo. Fans can shop for Gold Gopher gear HERE.
September 6 vs. Northwestern State – High School Band, Dance and Cheer Day
High school marching bands and spirit squads are invited to participate in the Gopher football pregame and halftime festivities. Minnesota High Schools interested in learning more can reach out to mnmarch@umn.edu or gopherspiritsquad@gmail.com
September 27 vs. Rutgers - Maroon Out
Fans are encouraged to wear Maroon for the Big Ten Conference home openers against Rutgers. Fans can shop for Maroon Gopher gear HERE.
Parent & Family Weekend is a great time to visit campus and enjoy some of the amazing activities and to explore the day-to-day life of students.
Celebrate Food & Ag Day returns to Gopher Football in 2025! In collaboration with the University's College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) as well as numerous agribusinesses from throughout the state of Minnesota; Gopher football will highlight the innovation and resiliency of the agriculture and food industry throughout the day.
October 11 vs. Purdue - Stripe Out / Homecoming
Fans are encouraged to wear either Maroon or Gold based on their seating location, as each section in Huntington Bank Stadium will be assigned a color to complete the Stripe Out. Fans can use these links to shop for Maroon or Gold gear.
Minnesota's Homecoming celebration will culminate with the football game where royalty selections will be announced at halftime. For more information on Homecoming click HERE.
October 18 vs. Nebraska - Gopher Score Day
Game day against the Huskers is dedicated to our Gopher Score Members. To learn more about the Gopher Score program or Gopher Loyalty Program click HERE.
November 1 vs. Michigan State - Salute to Service
Gopher football is honoring all active duty and retired service members. The community can support service members and help provide them with tickets to this game by making a gift HERE.
November 29 vs. Wisconsin - Senior Day
Celebrate our the football team's senior class prior to the annual Border Battle against Wisconsin.
Start times for home football games will be announced in the future.
